CARMEN - Medieval European Network

The main objective of CARMEN Co-operative for the Advancement of Research through the Medieval European Network is the development of collaboration platforms for research in the area of Medieval History.

This international network has as main objective the development of collaboration platforms for research in the area of Medieval History (http://www.carmen-medieval.net). It seeks to bring together medievalists but also scholars and experts from other scientific fields, and to promote collaborative research projects and research-related activities. The CARMEN Network also aims to identify and disseminate international research funds and scholarships to its partners, supporting them in their applications.

One of its major concerns is to maximize the public impact of research by developing partnerships with public and private entities outside the academy, including the media, multilevel education institutions.

CEPESE is part of CARMEN’s Management Board, and monitors and publicizes the actions publicized by this network, highlighting the opportunities for the organization and participation in international projects, contributing to the international projection of the Unit.

CARMEN’s Network Annual Conference (2013) was organized by CEPESE at the António de Almeida Foundation, Porto.
