Presidents of the Portuguese Parliament (1821-2013)

This Project, which is part of the research line devoted to the political and institutional history of Contemporary Portugal, has as main goal the biographic study of the individuals who presided the several Chambers of the Portuguese Parliament, since the establishment of the parliamentary regime in Portugal, in 1821, up to present time, presenting their most relevant political activities, and texts that help to understand the great issues that were debated in the Portuguese Parliament, in the legislatures during which they performed such functions.
